In connection with the implementation of the Investment for the construction of new capacities in coal technologies in TAURON Wytwarzanie S.A. – Construction of a 910 MW power unit for supercritical parameters in Jaworzno III Power Plant – Elektrownia II Zakład Remontowe Energetyki Katowice S.A. with headquarters in Katowice, signed a contract for: “Design and implementation as part of the delivery and assembly of high pressure pipelines (LAB, LBB, LBC, LBA) together with fittings and auxiliary systems, as well as the selection and assembly of primary fasteners” to perform, inter alia: As part of the design work ZRE committed to develop an executive design for the aforementioned pipelines and the selection of appropriate primary fastenings. The prefabrication part includes in its scope material procurement, production and delivery for the construction of ready elements of high pressure pipelines together with the associated fittings. In the month of February in the Production Center ZRE Katowice S.A. the bending of the most important diesel pipeline line of the new 910MW power unit for the supercritical parameters in the Jaworzno III Power Plant has ended. The prefabrication part includes, among others, purchase of materials, prefabrication and delivery for the construction of finished elements of high pressure pipelines together with the associated fittings. The scope of work included induction bending of a fresh steam pipeline with an ID320x98mm internal diameter in the grade 10CrWMoVNb9-2 (the actual wall thickness of bent tubes with regard to metallurgical deviations amounted to approx. 110-112mm). It should be emphasized that, until now in Poland, induction bending for pipes with wall thickness above 100mm as well as pipelines with such dimensions (average mass of the so-called spool was about 7 – 10 tons) was not performed. ZRE Katowice S.A. as the only company in the country and one of the few in Europe, it has a machine for induction bending of pipes in the range of wall thickness from 5-120mm. The whole work in the field of prefabrication of high pressure pipelines for the new block in Jaworzno includes prefabrication of pipelines with a weight of over 2,000 tons. photos from prefabrication of high-temperature and high-pressure thick-wall pipelines at the ZRE Katowice S.A Production Center for the Jaworzno III project.

Widely understood assembly works will be carried out in the area of the boiler room, electric building and engine room of the newly created Power Block. In addition, ZRE Katowice S.A. it undertook to carry out horizontal and vertical transport of the generator stator from the Opole river port, and to place the main foundation of the turbine set on the upper plate. It is also worth mentioning that ZRE Katowice received orders for the assembly of rotary LUVO air heaters. It is worth mentioning that everyone has 16 meters in diameter and the weight of one and bins is about 600 tons, they are used to warm up primary and secondary air by means of flue gas.

Stator generator (450t) transport for the construction of a new power unit in Jaworzno. On December 14, 2016, the next stage of stator transport ended for the newly built block of power plants in Jaworzno. ZRE Katowice S.A. is responsible for the transport and positioning of the generator stator. Previously implemented activities in this field included: – unloading of the generator stator from the barge in the Opole port – stator loading on a 32-axle NORCA type wagon – rail transport and logistics on the route Opole – Jaworzno – stator unloading with a hydraulic sliding system – stator reloadingusing the mobile crane system At the same time, it should be noted, referring to press information, that the stator of the generator was the heaviest load transported on European tracks.
The scope of further works of ZRE Katowice is the so-called “Last mile” and includes: – loading on self-propelled transport platform (SPMT, colloquially “kamag”) – displacement of the stator with SPMT under the transport hatch in the engine room – elevation and rotation of the stator by 900 using a unique rotation system – vertical transport with the use of servomotors rope (Strand Jacks) – horizontal transport by means of a hydraulic sliding system – foundation of the stator at the final working place on the machine room foundation.
Construction of a new power unit in Jaworzno with a capacity of 910 MW for supercritical parameters is an element of the strategy for the development of Polish electricity generation capacities.
