Oddział Elektrownia Opole is a unit belonging to the company PGE Górnictwo i Energetyka Konwencjonalna S.A. which is part of Polska Grupa Energetyczna. Due to the progressing construction of new units of Opole Power Plant as part of the strategy for the development of Polish electricity generation capacities, the delivery of engine room equipment has been achieved. The stator of the generator with a weight of approx. 450t with transport lids was delivered by rail to the construction site of the power plant. ZRE Katowice was a transport contractor within the so-called “Last mile”. The phrase “last mile” is called the last transport section for the load. In this case, the scope of ZRE Katowice’s work included: – takeover of a stator from a railway wagon using a mobile crane – transloading onto a self-propelled transport platform (SPMT, colloquially “kamag”) – stator displacement by means of SPMT under the transport hatch in the engine room – vertical transport using actuators rope (Strand Jacks) – rotation of the stator by 900 using a unique marketing system in Europe – horizontal transport by means of hydraulic skidding system – foundation and surveying in the target workplace on the engine room foundation The above works were performed in August 2016 .ZRE Katowice S.A. began transport and assembly of pipelines. ZRE Katowice S.A. also started work on the transport and assembly of the Turboset.
