In 2014 the I& C Division together with the Division of Turbine and Fittings Division have completed turnkey erection of two combined steam and gas power units with their power of 420 MW each at Tzafit Electric Power Plant in Izrael.
Scope of jobs assigned to the Division of Automation included:
- installation of pressure and differential pressure converters along with pressure sensing lines,
- installation of temperature sensors and transducers,
- Installation of special Bently Nevada measuring units,
- installation of flame scanners, igniters, flow meters and terminal switches,
- installation of terminal and switching boxes as well as system cabinets,
- installation of cable ducts,
- installation of signal cables with termination,
- commissioning jobs,
Due to growing demand for electric power and recent discovery of huge deposits of crude oils on shelf of the Mediterranean Sea the government of Israel took the decision to extend the Tzafit Electric Power Plant with two additional power units of combined steam and power cycle.
The general contractor for the project is Alstom that delivers GT26 turbines with a generator and a steam turbine within the single-shaft arrangements.
