In Septemeber 2016, Production Centre ZRE Katowice S.A., sucessfully completed the manufacturing of the biggest pressure housing of furnace for heat treatment of aircraft parts (BOEING and AIRBUS). The customer was SECO/WARWICK Group company.

The furnace housing weighs approx. 80 tons and consists of 3 parts – the main chamber and the closing doors.

The scope of our work included all activities, from purchasing the material, by welding, mechanical working, the assembly of the housing, to testing and performing trials.

The housing will be the base of construction for one of the biggest vacuum furnace in Europe. The furnace will be used for heat treatment of some parts for airplanes e.g. undercarriages legs, which will be installed in Boeing’s and Airbus’ machines.

The furnace housing complies with all the strict aircraft industry standards. The pressure of cooling furnace is 14 bar and the setting of safety is 14.3 bar.

We are grateful to SECO / WARWICK Group Company for trust and the opportunity to implement the project of great importance for the European and global industry.

ZRE Katowice in action! The construction of the new unit at the Kozienice power plant.

The Company ZRE Katowice SA participates in the most advanced and modern investment in the Polish power sector. Many of our employees are involved in the construction of the new power unit (1075MW) in Kozienice Power Plant.

The work has entered a decisive phase. Most of the buildings are completed and the size of few of them is really impressive. The huge cooling tower dominates over the power plant’s area. It is 185 meters high. The instalation of Japanese generator is underway.

Almost 1200 employees are working at the construction site and many of them are specialists from ZRE Katowice S.A. The scope of our work includes installation of the steam turbine (1075MW), installation of the generator, steam condensers and installation of I&C. The implementation of these responsible tasks requires competence, experience and the use of advanced technology.

The new 1075MW power unit in Kozienice is the most advanced and efficient coal-fired unit in Poland and one of the most modern in Europe. The unit will work on supercritical steam parameters. Modern technological solutions will generate the same amount of energy, using less coal. The use of innovative ecological solutions will minimize emissions to the environment and what is important, the solutions eliminate the impact of external factors on the work of the new unit (eg. in 2015 the temperature of the water in Vistula river reduced power generation capacity).

ENEA SA Company prepares videos of progress on the construction of the new power plant unit in Kozienice. You can watch the impressive scale of this project and employees of ZRE Katowice in action.

*ENEA SA is the only owner of this video.
